Hey have a wig question...

For any of you who have bought a "punky" wig for anything.  How are the fibers laid out?  As in, would this be something I would be able to weft additional hair into, or is it one of those that have that knotty stuff at the base of the hair in order to give the wig lift?
Any help/info is appreciated.   <3

[livejournal.com profile] vartan/Paul (from ANext) had recommended the punky to us. He said that wefts wouldn't be required! He could probably give ya more info!

I bought XL punky for 'Snakes N' Barrles' Pickles. You can't weft around the top, it does have that dense knotty stuff at the bottom. The area is a little bigger than the standard skin top cap but after that section if you want to add wefts there's plenty of room to do so, although really you don't need it.

I'm actually gonna post a picture or two of it.

Yo~
This is Paul, and what up! Just came across your LJ because I was thinking "hey, I remember LJ names of some of the people I met and I'm bored at work and whatnot..."

Anyway, the punky wigs, both New Punk and Punky have the extra teased hair at the roots, especially at the crown but also at the base of the skull to some degree. New Punk is especially dense/bad with it all over.

I was able to use a detangling comb (the kind with the rounded, zig-zag teeth) and lots of patience to get a lot of it out, but once you have done that the wefts are kind of far apart in spots (especially in New Punk), so if you're doing large spikes you will end up showing the netting, especially around the crown of the head...as I discovered after I had detangled the damn thing.

The fiber itself is a little coarse, not to the degree of a lot of the really cheap guys (short) pre-spiked wigs, but it cooperates really well with spiking. Punky is slightly softer/silkier than New Punk.

But yeah, it shouldn't be hard to weft into if you wanted to.
